The Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Lviv, also known as Lviv Skansen or Shevchenkivskyi Hai, is a key cultural institution in Ukraine, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich heritage of the country’s western regions. Named after Klymenty Sheptytskyi, the museum serves as a living repository of national traditions, attracting locals and tourists alike. Since its founding, the museum has played a crucial role in researching, preserving, and promoting the folk architecture, culture, and ancient way of life of Ukraine’s western part.

The museum boasts an impressive collection of over 21,000 artefacts and 110 large architectural objects, including the largest and most unique collection of sacred buildings in Europe. This open-air museum is not just a showcase of history but a centre for cultural revival, where visitors can immerse themselves in the traditional Ukrainian lifestyle. The preservation efforts have been supported by prominent historical figures such as Andrey and Klymentii Sheptytskyi, Mykhailo Dragan, and Ilarion Sventsitskyi, making it a landmark of both cultural and historical significance in Lviv.
