The M. F. Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum, one of Ukraine’s largest and oldest museums, is a key cultural landmark in the Slobozhanshchyna region and a leading centre of cultural and scientific life in Eastern Ukraine. Founded on January 21, 1920, the museum originated from the Museum of Slobid Ukraine, established by the renowned academician Mykola Fedorovych Sumtsov.
