The Kmytiv Museum of Fine Arts, named after Yosyp Bukhanchuk, showcases a distinctive collection of paintings in the style of socialist realism. Established in 1974 through the initiative of art critic and collector Yosyp Bukhanchuk, who had taught at the Leningrad Art Institute in the 1960s, the museum features a building designed by Professor Ihor Fomin in 1985. Initially, Bukhanchuk donated 600 paintings from his collection, which was later expanded through state funds and donations from Soviet artists, growing to include approximately 3,000 works.

The museum’s collection highlights include paintings by prominent Ukrainian artists such as Tetyana Yablonska, Mykola Hlushchenko, and Mykola Maksimenko, as well as intricately crafted sculptures by Saint Petersburg artist Nikiforova. Please note that photography is not permitted within the museum.
