The City Museum of Rijeka, founded in 1875, explores the city's history through extensive collections and diverse exhibitions.

Established in 1875 and officially opened in 1893, the City Museum of Rijeka is a prominent cultural institution located in the Governor’s Palace park. Originating as the Museum of the People’s Revolution in 1961, it was renamed in 1994 and relocated to a purpose-built modernist building designed by architect Neven Šegvić. The museum offers a comprehensive look at Rijeka’s rich history and culture, featuring extensive collections in art, photography, numismatics, and documentary materials. Its notable exhibitions include “Rijeka’s Bridges,” “Rijeka’s Park Heritage,” and “Rijeka’s Torpedo: The First in the World,” among others, highlighting the city’s industrial and cultural milestones as well as its influential figures.
