National Museum Vranje

The National Museum in Vranje, based in the historic Selamluk building, showcases southern Serbia's cultural heritage.

The National Museum in Vranje, Serbia, founded in 1960 and housed in the historic Selamluk building, serves as a central institution for preserving and showcasing southern Serbia’s rich cultural heritage. With the integration of the Bora Stanković House Museum in 1967, the National Museum Gallery in 1995, and additional sites like the old Hammam and Pribojčić’s house, it offers a diverse array of exhibits, including contemporary art, thematic displays, and historical artifacts. The museum’s permanent exhibitions explore Vranje’s history and Bora Stanković’s life, and it publishes the “Vranjski glasnik,” a key regional professional journal. Its mission includes the identification, collection, and presentation of cultural heritage, utilizing modern technologies to enhance accessibility and fostering cooperation with various institutions and individuals.
