The Museum of Bećarac in Pleternica is an innovative interpretation centre dedicated to the UNESCO-protected bećarac, a witty vocal and instrumental music form deeply rooted in Slavonian culture. The museum features over 400 bećarac singers and 200 authentic items, along with original illustrations, photographs, documentaries, and animated films.
Visitors can explore the bećarac calendar, folk customs throughout the year, and the role of this centuries-old tradition in the lives of Slavonian people. The museum is particularly notable for its interactive exhibits, including karaoke, a bećarac robot, and multimedia content that bring this important intangible cultural heritage to life.
