EUROCITIES, Architects Council Europe and Europa Nostra, sharing some information on the recently-launched Cultural Heritage in Action project, a peer-learning programme for local and regional policy-makers to exchange knowledge on cultural heritage, with a focus on participatory governance, adaptive reuse and quality of interventions.
Cultural Heritage in Action aims to empower cities and regions to strengthen their cultural heritage policies and initiatives and to develop innovative solutions to preserve cultural heritage assets. It is one of the actions of theEuropean Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage published by the European Commission in December 2018 to sustain the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
EUROCITIES is developing the project in partnership with Europa Nostra, Architects’ Council of Europe, KEA and ERRIN from January 2020 to April 2021. The project will produce a catalogue of 30 good practices from EU cities, regions, non-urban and rural areas and will organise 12 peer-learning visits bringing together 20+ participants per visit.
We are now looking for 30 local practices that are innovative, inspiring for other cities and regions and have a real impact on the ground. A call to identify 30 practices that will be featured in a catalogue is open with an extended deadline until 27 April 2020.
