The World Forum for Motor Museums is a bi-annual event for museum professionals, volunteers and owners and operators of motoring and transport collections. In previous years this popular event has been held in the USA, Australia and in recent years has been staged in the Italian city of Modena and Sinsheim Germany.
This year the event is staged at the heart of Shakespeare’s England, and the 2018 World Forum is being held at the British Motor Museum between 3rd and 7th September 2018.
The conference programme has been released recently and more than 25 speakers from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, the USA and the UK will be sharing their knowledge and expertise in a programme packed with content covering everything from income generation to vehicle conservation and much else. The four themes of resilience and sustainability, collections, engaging audiences and motor museums for the 21st century are illustrated with presentations and debate.
In parallel with the formal content the World Forum also includes visits to other British motor collections and heritage venues including the award-winning Black Country Living Museum.
The event is a must for those caring for motoring collections but will also appeal to museum and heritage professionals generally.
