The Origins of Chinese Civilization – Archaeological Treasures from Henan

This spectacular exhibition provides an overview on 3000 years of history of the Chinese civilization, from the Xia and Shang dynasties up to the Song dynasty. Over 140 outstanding objects unearthed in Henan showcase the making of Chinese civilization and its diversified development in terms of politics, society, economy and culture. This is undoubtedly one of the most important archaeological exhibitions presented so far in Luxembourg.
MNHA is very proud to host this outstanding exhibition in the framework of an agreement on collaboration with Henan Administration of Cultural Heritage. In 2020, the Chinese public will have the opportunity to learn more about Luxembourg’s past through an exhibition on Roman archaeology.
“The Origins of Chinese Civilization” has been coordinated by Henan Museum, Zhengzhou. Prestigious loans also come from other major museums and cultural institutions of the province : Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology, Guo State Museum, Jiyuan Museum; Luoyang Museum; Nanyang Museum and Yongcheng Museum.
