Dr Patrick Greene is CEO of Museum Victoria and has spent 12 years in the role. During that time the three museums (Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks and the Immigration Museum), the IMAX cinema and the Royal Exhibition Building, all of which comprise Museum Victoria, have become Australia’s leading organisation of its kind. It plays a strong and growing role in tourism, with about 2 million visits a year and 5 million online visits.
Patrick Greene is also a Fellow of the Tourism Society, Chair of the Council of Australasian Museum Directors, and an Ambassador for Club Melbourne, the organisation established to attract international conferences to the new Melbourne Convention Centre. Patrick Greene is an Adjunct Professor in the Centre for Cultural Heritage Asia Pacific of Deakin University and a Professorial Fellow of the University of Melbourne. He is also member of the Pool of Experts of the European Museum Academy Foundation.
