A WORD FROM THE BOARD
Museums all over Europe are entering the summer months with Corona fears clouding the prospects of visitor numbers. At the same time museums have implemented all kinds of measures to keep the risk of virus spread to a minimum.
The European Museum Academy feels it will be a terrible loss if the potential of knowledge-based experiences in museums is not exploited. It will certainly be a financial loss for many museums, but it will even more importantly be a catastrophic loss for the public.
We are sorry that we had to cancel many of the prestigious museum awards this year because of the pandemic which made the physical visits to the candidates impossible during spring and also to arrange the grand EMA award ceremony and conference in Chemnitz, Germany.
We hope to meet all museum friends in Chemnitz at some other time and for now look forward to next year.
