Heritage in Motion, an exciting partnership with Europa Nostra

Heritage in Motion, an exciting partnership with Europa Nostra - European Museum Academy


Europa Nostra and the European Museum Academy have taken the initiative jointly to launch the Heritage in Motion Festival. These two founding partner organisations felt the need to gather the best multimedia products and achievements at a European Festival, focussing specifically on themes related to the safeguarding and promotion of Europe's heritage.  The starting date of the Heritage in Motion Award 2013 contest. Later the project was joined by EUROPEANA which is now pivotal in developing the new Heritage in Motion website.

Permanent Partnerships.

The EMA Foundation develops its programme also in partnership with qualified institutions active in the museum field as well as in the cultural heritage sector in general. This cooperation implies different forms of memberships (like in Europeana where EMA sits in the Board), exchanges of information, production of common documents,publications,  lectures, planning of seminars and other events, publications, research projects on a bilateral or multilateral basis.

Children in Museums: an exciting partnership with Hands On! International - European Museum Academy

The Children in Museums Award has been established by the European Museum Academy and Hands On! International Association of Children in Museums to recognise internationally excellence and innovation in exhibits designed for children within the museum sector. Applications are welcomed from children’s museums and from education, children and youth departments in museums and science museums, both long-established and recently opened.


The Jury is looking especially for the creative use of exhibitions and programmes with an innovative interpretative approach, which should be meaningful to the relevant age-group.  The Jury will expect proof and examples of your innovative approach and aesthetic qualities,, open-ended learning programme, excellence that can be acknowledged by children.
